Colombia’s Contadia platform slashes tax filing time for accountants

During the 2025 tax‑return season, Colombia’s DIAN recorded more than 6.5 million individual filings, creating heavy workloads for accountants. The Contadia platform, a specialised tax‑software solution, reports having processed over 307 000 returns and aims to exceed 500 000 in 2026, a growth of more than 50 % year‑on‑year. By automating calculations and embedding tax logic, the tool reduces the time needed to prepare a return from four hours to about 15 minutes, helping accountants manage dozens of clients simultaneously while meeting tighter deadlines and traceability requirements. Daniela Mainguez, Contadia’s Business Director, says the technology enables professionals to apply regulations quickly and maintain control during peak periods.
