Colombia's First Southwest Dairy Forum Held in Ipiales
The inaugural Southwest Colombian Dairy Forum (I Foro Lácteo del Suroccidente Colombiano 2026) took place in Ipiales, bringing together dairy producers, processors, marketers and key sector stakeholders. Participants included the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, FEDEGÁN, Lácteos Santamaría, Colácteos, the Price Stabilization Fund, the Nariño Dairy Cluster, Universidad Mariana, INVIMA, CIDTCA, SENA, AGROSAVIA, SAGAN, ICA, departmental authorities of Nariño, the Putumayo Governor's Office, Banco Agrario and the Southwest Dairy Committee of Nariño and Putumayo.
Jhon Suárez, head of competitiveness and projects at CCI, said the forum gathered entrepreneurs from every link of the value chain and highlighted the strong presence of state entities. He added, "We had participation and support from the Ministry of Agriculture, with highly relevant topics for strengthening the sector; we see the need to continue reinforcing the dairy industry through practical exercises and concrete actions the Dairy Cluster is developing."
The event aimed to share knowledge, strengthen alliances and promote development of the regional dairy sector.
