Colombia's independent rock scene and film industry demand more platforms
Singer‑songwriter Camilo Camacho teamed up with the band Tappan to release the single “Ser Ese Camino,” a hard‑rock track aimed at revitalising Spanish‑language rock outside major label control. The collaboration highlights a growing independent music movement in Colombia that has attracted attention from the Latin Grammy process.
Actor and filmmaker Lucho Velasco warned that despite producing roughly 80 Colombian films each year, the country lacks sufficient screens for distribution. He argued that expanding exhibition would boost employment and broader economic activity, urging distributors and cinema owners to give local productions more exposure.
