Colombia's National Arts Center Presents 'La Suite del Despertar' in July 2026

The theater production "La Suite del Despertar" will run from 16 to 26 July 2026 at the Sala Delia Zapata in Bogotá. It is a co‑production of Umbral Teatro and the Centro Nacional de las Artes, directed and written by Carolina Vivas Ferreira. The work is described as "una obra que invita a la reflexión sobre la vida, la dignidad y la posibilidad de reconstruirse" and focuses on the resilience of Colombian women.

The staging incorporates autonomous movements linked by sound, audiovisual elements and a magician as master of ceremonies, and dialogues with Picasso's Guernica to contrast war and peace. The production marks the tenth anniversary of the 2016 peace accords between the Colombian state and the FARC‑EP, following the centre’s earlier 2026 work "Aquí hay un pueblo: Delia Zapata y el mito de Rambao".
