Colombia's online secondhand clothing market generates $9 million annually

A recent GoTrendier report shows that Colombia's digital resale platform for used clothing now moves more than US$9 million a year, supported by about 300,000 active sellers. In 2025 the country added roughly 500,000 new users, making it one of the largest second‑hand marketplaces in Latin America.

Ana Jiménez, country manager of GoTrendier Colombia, said the sector has shifted from a marginal hobby to a real source of household income, noting that “the consumer is very sensitive to price – in inflationary contexts the second‑hand market thrives.” Bogotá and Medellín concentrate the most professional sellers, while Antioquia ranks second in transaction volume, generating $5.2 billion in sales and attracting $12.7 billion in buyer spend during 2025.

The platform’s growth reflects rising price sensitivity and a broader circular‑economy trend, with users primarily motivated by cost savings rather than sustainability.
