Workers who have at least 750 weeks of contributions (women) or 900 weeks (men) and are within ten years of the statutory retirement age—47 for women, 52 for men—may request a transfer between the public system (Colpensiones) and private pension funds (AFP) or vice‑versa. Labour Minister Antonio Sanguino Páez stated that both Colpensiones and the AFPs must process applications, even if the double‑advisory process is not yet completed, provided the request is made by the deadline. Colpensiones announced extended service hours: continuous assistance from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on July 11‑12 and until 6:00 p.m. on July 14‑16, to accommodate the surge of applications.
