Colombia's SENA launches free virtual English courses
The National Learning Service (SENA) in Colombia has opened enrollment for its "English Does Work" program, offering a series of 13 free online English courses. Each course lasts 48 hours and is designed to bring learners to a B2 (intermediate) proficiency level. The curriculum covers basic communication tools, personal and workplace contexts, text comprehension, and argumentative writing. Prospective participants can take a 45‑minute diagnostic test (SENA Placement Test) to determine their current level and the appropriate course. Registration is completed through SENA's website, where users create an account and select the desired module. The virtual format allows learners to study from any location with internet access, aiming to improve education and employment opportunities for a broad audience.
The initiative reflects SENA's broader effort to expand digital education and provide workforce‑relevant language skills without cost to participants.
