Colombia's Universities Gain Accreditation Renewal and Expand Outreach Programs
The Colombian Ministry of Education renewed the six‑year Institutional Accreditation of High Quality Multicampus for Universidad Sergio Arboleda. The renewal, recorded in Resolution No. 020607 on 3 August 2026 and signed by Minister Daniel Rojas Medellín, covers the university’s three campuses in Bogotá, Barranquilla and Santa Marta and recognises its continued progress in mission, vision, governance and social impact.
Separately, Universidad de Córdoba and the Montería municipal government announced an expansion of the “Universidad en Tu Colegio” initiative. The program will start with more than 80 students from peripheral schools and aims to broaden access to higher‑education courses, including a technical program in Web Programming. Mayor Hugo Kerguelen García highlighted the effort as part of a broader strategy to close educational gaps, alongside other projects such as the Bilingualism for Peace program and a planned bus station to improve student transport.
Both actions reflect ongoing efforts to improve quality and accessibility in Colombia’s higher‑education sector.
