The Colombo Metro Bus service is scheduled to expand starting in late September. Transport Minister Bimal Rathnayake released route maps under the Lanka Metro Transit brand, detailing a network designed to provide safe and comfortable travel across Colombo and its surrounding suburbs.

The proposed expansion includes seven specific services:

• CM 01: Makumbura to Pettah • CM 02: Millennium City to Colombo Fort • CM 03: Kadawatha to Makumbura • CM 04: Dematagoda to Panadura • CM 05: Battaramulla to Ekala • CM 06: Kollupitiya Circular Route • CM 08: Kahathuduwa to Pettah/SLIIT

The network will connect key areas such as Maharagama, Nugegoda, Battaramulla, Malabe, Dehiwala, Moratuwa, and Ja-Ela. While the expansion is slated for late September, specific commencement dates for individual routes, operating frequencies, ticket pricing, and detailed timetables have not yet been released.
