Colombo police arrest four foreign nationals for cocaine trafficking
Four foreign nationals have been arrested in Colombo following a drug trafficking operation targeting a hotel and supermarket complex in the Kollupitiya police division. The initial operation resulted in the apprehension of two men and two women, along with the seizure of 1 kilogram and 6 grams of cocaine.
During subsequent medical examinations at Colombo National Hospital, authorized by the Fort Magistrate's Court, investigators discovered additional narcotics concealed within the body of one female suspect. This secondary seizure yielded 80 grams and 9 milligrams of cocaine, which had been hidden in a wrapper.
The Colombo District Crime Division is continuing its investigation to identify the broader network connected to these individuals and determine the origin of the drugs.
