Colombo Stock Exchange earns workplace award amid market decline
The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has received the ‘Great Place to Work Certification’ for the fifth consecutive year. The recognition, based on anonymous employee surveys regarding credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie, highlights the exchange's focus on workplace culture and diversity. CEO Rajeeva Bandaranaike noted that the achievement reflects the team's dedication to a culture of trust and collaboration.
In contrast to this internal milestone, the CSE has experienced three consecutive sessions of market declines. Both the All Share Price Index (ASPI) and the S&P SL20 index fell as selling pressure outweighed buying interest. Analysts attribute the downturn to investor caution and a period of consolidation as market participants monitor macroeconomic developments and fiscal policies in Sri Lanka.
