Cullera to distribute 8,000 safety glasses for solar eclipse

The City Council of Cullera will distribute 8,000 certified solar eclipse glasses free of charge to ensure safe viewing of the solar eclipse on August 12. The protective eyewear complies with the ISO 12312-2 standard and will be available at various municipal locations, including Tourist Info Cullera, Casa de la Cultura, and the ATÉN Office, until supplies last.

To manage the event, the council has established the CECOPAL coordination center, involving municipal services, police, and emergency responders. Specific safety measures include restricting vehicle traffic in mountainous areas, where access will be limited to pedestrians and local residents. Additionally, the Cullera Castle and the Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Castle will be closed during the afternoon, and access to the Ermita de los Santos de la Piedra will be prohibited. Beach rescue services will also be extended until 21:00 to enhance public safety.
