Colopl launches AI-driven ‘Active Cinema RPG 369’
Colopl's brand Kuma the Bear has released ‘Active Cinema RPG 369 (Miroku)’, a new browser-based game that utilizes generative AI to create high-definition, live-action style cinematic footage. The title introduces a new genre described as an ‘Active Cinema RPG,’ blending continuous short-drama storytelling with real-time card command battles.
Players follow the story of Uru Kusanagi, a high school girl with spiritual abilities, and Shino Tatimaru, an investigator for a special agency, as they confront supernatural phenomena. The game is accessible via web browsers on both PC and smartphones, eliminating the need for large data installations. While the AI-generated visuals maintain high character consistency, some technical artifacts in camera work and background text remain present.
The combat system features time-limited turns where players summon ‘Shikigami’ to battle enemies. Strategic depth is provided by varying summoning times and character abilities, such as high-attack units that require longer preparation. The game is free-to-play with in-app purchases.
