Colorado air traffic controller commutes via paramotor
Jacob Hatzler, a 28-year-old air traffic controller in Colorado, has gained social media attention for his unique daily commute. Instead of driving, Hatzler uses a paramotor to fly from his home to the airport where he works.
The flight takes approximately 20 minutes. Hatzler prepares his equipment, which includes a Parajet Maverick system with an Ozone Sirocco 3 wing, in an open area near his residence. Before entering the airport's airspace, he maintains two-way communication with the control tower to ensure safety.
Hatzler noted that the most challenging part of the process is walking to the road before setting up his gear. His interest in aviation began in childhood, and he was inspired to use a paramotor after seeing a YouTuber use one for short trips.
