Colorado Avalanche goaltenders win William M. Jennings Trophy

Colorado Avalanche goaltenders Scott Wedgewood and Mackenzie Blackwood have been awarded the William M. Jennings Trophy for the 2025-26 season. The award is presented to the goaltenders on the team that allows the fewest goals during the regular season. The duo helped the Avalanche allow a league-low 203 goals, contributing to wins in 54 of the team's 55 victories.

Following a season that saw the pair share the net effectively, head coach Jared Bednar expressed optimism regarding Blackwood’s return to full strength. Blackwood, who signed a five-year extension with the team, missed the start of the previous season due to offseason surgery. Bednar noted that Blackwood has worked extensively during the summer to prepare for the upcoming season, aiming to establish himself as a primary option in net.
