Colorado Avalanche promote Andrew Cogliano to assistant GM

Colorado Avalanche Andrew Cogliano NHL Assistant General Manager Stanley Cup

The Colorado Avalanche have promoted Andrew Cogliano to the role of assistant general manager. Cogliano, 39, previously served as a special assistant to former general manager Chris MacFarland for the past two seasons.

A former NHL forward with a 17-year career, Cogliano played for several teams, including the Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Ducks, Dallas Stars, and San Jose Sharks, before joining Colorado. He was a member of the Avalanche team that won the Stanley Cup in 2022.

General manager Joe Sakic described the promotion as well-deserved, noting that Cogliano is a “great communicator” whose skills will be “invaluable” to the organization.
