Colorado Buffaloes face quarterback uncertainty ahead of Texas Tech matchup

The Colorado Buffaloes are preparing to host the No. 12 Texas Tech Red Raiders at Folsom Field, facing significant questions regarding their starting quarterback. Head coach Deion Sanders has not yet finalized a decision between Julian Lewis and Isaac Wilson. While Lewis started the first four games, Wilson was brought in during a recent loss to Baylor, where he completed 12 of 25 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown.

Sanders noted that while he has spoken with Wilson about the possibilities, he has not yet spoken with Lewis regarding the upcoming matchup. Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire stated that his team is preparing for both players, noting that Colorado's offensive system, led by coordinator Brennan Marion, remains a primary concern regardless of who is under center.

Texas Tech enters the game as a 15.5-point favorite. For Colorado to maintain an upset chance, analysts point to key players like wide receiver Joseph Williams, who recorded 11 catches for 127 yards in the previous game. However, the Buffaloes must also address defensive issues and offensive efficiency to compete with the highly-ranked Red Raiders.
