Colorado Buffaloes football address size concerns and defensive changes in fall camp

The Colorado Buffaloes football team has completed its first week of fall camp, which included a five-day training period away from campus at Fountain-Fort Carson High School to foster team bonding.

Defensively, the team is transitioning from a 4-2-5 scheme to a 4-3 look under new defensive coordinator Chris Marve. This change aims to address run defense issues, with a linebacker room that includes Gideon Lampron, Tyler Martinez, and Liona Lefauc.

Head coach Deion Sanders also addressed public criticisms regarding the physical size of the roster. Responding to narratives that the team is too small, Sanders cited specific averages, noting that the offensive line averages 6-5 and 310 pounds, while interior defensive linemen average 6-3 and 295 pounds. Offensive coordinator Brennan Marion also supported the players against these claims.
