Television ratings for Colorado Buffaloes games on ESPN reportedly fell 67 percent between 2023 and 2025. This decline follows the initial high viewership seen during Deion Sanders’ debut campaign with the program.

In response to a lack of offensive and defensive production in 2025, the program has implemented coaching changes. New offensive coordinator Brennan Marion and defensive leader Chris Marve are expected to spearhead the team's strategy for the 2026 season.

Predictions for the upcoming season highlight quarterback Julian Lewis, a former four-star recruit from USC, as a central figure in a new 'Go-Go' offense. The scheme aims to utilize RPO concepts and create more one-on-one matchups for playmakers, including running backs Richard Young, DeKalon Taylor, and Micah Welch.
