Colorado football faces offensive challenges under Deion Sanders
Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has expressed concerns regarding the team's offensive production, noting that the passing attack must improve as the team enters Big 12 play. Excluding a non-Power 4 matchup against Weber State, the offense has averaged approximately nine to ten points per game against Power 4 opponents.
Quarterback Julian Lewis, who is in his first season as the starter, has completed 59% of his passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns against Georgia Tech and Northwestern. Lewis has attributed his early-season performance to preparation and hard work, though he acknowledged the need for continued improvement following a 41-7 loss to Northwestern.
The Buffaloes' receiving corps faces challenges, including a foot injury to Danny Scudero. While DeAndre Moore Jr. and Joseph Williams lead the team in targets, the depth of the position group remains a point of focus for the coaching staff.
