Colorado Gov. Candidate Phil Weiser Selects Lesley Dahlkemper as Lieutenant Governor

Democratic nominee for Colorado governor Phil Weiser announced his running mate on July 22 at the Colorado Democratic Party headquarters in Denver. He chose Jefferson County Commissioner Lesley Dahlkemper, who is finishing her second term on the county board and previously served as president of the Jeffco Public Schools Board of Education. The campaign emphasized that Dahlkemper's selection brings local‑government experience and a partnership with the Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Ute tribes, underscoring respect for tribal sovereignty. Dahlkemper, originally from Chicago and a former reporter, moved to Denver in 1989 and is married to former Colorado Senate minority leader Mike Feeley.
