US Federal Courts Sentence Two Men for Fentanyl Distribution in Colorado and Missouri

Felipe Feliciano Ramirez, a 45‑year‑old leader of the La Nuestra Familia gang, was sentenced in Colorado to an additional ten years for directing a fentanyl‑laden drug ring that operated in Washington state while incarcerated. Prosecutors said Ramirez used a coded communications system to coordinate shipments, including a package intercepted en route to Spokane, WA. The sentence runs consecutively to his existing 28‑year term, extending his confinement to a total of 38 years, followed by eight years of supervised probation.

In a separate case, 32‑year‑old James B. Link of Farmington, Missouri, received a ten‑year federal prison term after pleading guilty to distributing fentanyl‑containing pills that caused a friend’s fatal overdose. The court ordered the sentence to run consecutive to any state convictions Link may face. Link admitted delivering the blue and yellow fentanyl pills and was prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office with assistance from local law‑enforcement agencies.
