Colorado midterm election features record number of ballot measures

Colorado’s upcoming November 3 midterm election features a significant number of statewide ballot measures. A total of 14 measures are on the ballot, tying a 52-year record for the most questions presented to voters. Of these, 13 were initiated by citizen groups through signature collection, while only Proposition NN was referred by the state legislature.

Key issues on the ballot include competing proposals for income taxation, specifically Amendment 87 and Proposition 136. Additionally, Amendment 83 seeks to establish a constitutional right to hunt and fish in the state.

Ballots began being mailed to registered voters on October 2. To receive a ballot by mail, residents must be registered by October 26. While registration remains open until polls close on Election Day, those registering after the October 26 deadline must vote in person.
