Colorado recalls cannabis vapes due to toxic solvent contamination

Colorado health and revenue officials have issued an urgent safety advisory and recall for cannabis vaporizer products manufactured by Staycon LLC, doing business as Craft. The recall affects 49 products sold at 405 dispensaries across the state between March 27 and September 25, 2026.

Testing revealed the products were contaminated with methylene chloride, a carcinogenic industrial solvent commonly used in paint removers and metal cleaning. While the Environmental Protection Agency notes that exposure can lead to central nervous system depression, liver toxicity, and lung cancer, state officials have not yet received reports of adverse illnesses linked to these specific products.

Affected products include various batches of ‘Green Skunk’, ‘Hawaiian Sour’, ‘Grand Daddy Purps’, ‘Purple Skunk’, ‘Mango Kush’, ‘Tropical Punch’, ‘Super Lemon Haze’, and ‘Hazy Citrus’. Consumers are advised to either destroy the products or return them to the original retailer for disposal.
