Colorado Rockies designate Edouard Julien for assignment

The Colorado Rockies have designated infielder Edouard Julien for assignment. To fill the roster spot, the team will recall outfielder Zac Veen from Triple-A Albuquerque.

Julien, a 27-year-old Quebec native, has struggled offensively and defensively during his tenure with the Rockies. Since joining the team in an offseason swap with the Minnesota Twins, he has posted a .208 batting average. Because he is out of minor league options, the Rockies were required to designate him for assignment.
