Colorado Rockies place catcher Hunter Goodman on injured list

The Colorado Rockies have placed catcher Hunter Goodman on the 10-day injured list due to a left shoulder strain. The move is retroactive to August 15. Goodman, a high-performing power hitter with 34 home runs this season, was scratched from the lineup in a recent game against the Dodgers after expressing discomfort with the injury.

Rockies manager Warren Schaeffer expects Goodman to return when first eligible in approximately one week. To fill the vacancy on the active roster, the club has recalled catcher Braxton Fulford from Triple-A Albuquerque. Fulford is expected to start behind the plate for the upcoming game against the Dodgers.
