Colorado Rockies record fourth consecutive 100-loss season
The Colorado Rockies have reached a historic low, becoming the first Major League Baseball franchise since the 1962–1965 New York Mets to suffer four consecutive seasons with at least 100 losses. The milestone was cemented following a 7-2 defeat by the Arizona Diamondbacks at Coors Field.
In the game, Arizona's Michael Soroka pitched seven innings with nine strikeouts, while former Rockies All-Star Nolan Arenado contributed three hits. The victory keeps the Diamondbacks' postseason hopes alive as they remain in contention for a National League wildcard spot, trailing the Philadelphia Phillies.
On an individual level, Diamondbacks catcher Gabriel Moreno is mounting a significant challenge for the National League batting title. Following his performance in the series, Moreno's batting average rose to .310, placing him just two points behind the current leader, Luis Arráez, who holds a .312 average.
