Colorado schools face allegations of racial harassment and civil rights lawsuit

Multiple Colorado educational institutions are facing allegations of racial harassment involving students and spectators.

A federal civil rights lawsuit has been filed against Addenbrooke Classical Academy in Lakewood on behalf of Jaylen Davis, a 16-year-old student. The complaint alleges that Davis was subjected to repeated racial slurs, stereotypes, and threats, including being mocked with references to slave auctions and racial caricatures. The lawsuit claims school officials failed to investigate or intervene despite multiple complaints from the student and his mother.

Separately, reports of racial abuse have emerged involving Lutheran High School in Parker during inter-school athletic events. Student-athletes and cheerleaders from Sand Creek High School and Rampart High School reported being targeted with racial slurs and derogatory comments during football games. Allegations include students using belts to mimic whips and recording students during confrontations. These incidents have prompted broader discussions regarding racial conduct within local school sports environments.
