Colorado ski resorts face delays due to warm weather

Warm weather in Colorado has slowed snowmaking progress, delaying the anticipated opening of the state's ski resorts. While Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, Keystone Resort, and Loveland Ski Area have made some progress, meteorologist Joel Gratz described recent snowmaking conditions as “marginal.”

Keystone Resort has updated its lift ticket sales to begin on October 31, though an official opening date has not been announced. Other major resorts have projected opening dates throughout November, including Breckenridge and Copper Mountain on November 6, Vail Mountain on November 13, and Aspen-Snowmass on November 26.

Arapahoe Basin, Keystone, and Loveland all began snowmaking around October 14 following a light snowstorm, but ideal conditions are not expected to return until next week.
