Colorado Springs Colorado Temple begins construction

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Colorado Springs Colorado Temple on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Elder Karl D. Hirst, a member of the Church’s United States Central Area presidency, presided over the event and offered a dedicatory prayer at the site.

Once completed, the temple will serve as the fourth house of the Lord in the state of Colorado, joining existing temples in Denver, Fort Collins, and Grand Junction. During the ceremony, speakers emphasized the spiritual significance of the temple as a place for peace, revelation, and strengthening religious covenants.
