Colorado Springs fire station bear steals equipment bag

A bear entered Station 16 of the Colorado Springs Fire Department and stole a bag of equipment, according to security footage released by the department. The incident was shared on social media with a humorous caption, jokingly suggesting the bear was taking over duties.

Following the event, officials used the incident to remind residents of safety measures to prevent bear encounters. Colorado Parks and Wildlife recommends removing bird feeders, keeping pets indoors, and securing food and trash. Authorities noted that bears are currently searching more intensely for food to prepare for winter and warned that relying on human food sources endangers both animals and people.
