Colorado Springs Utilities warns of half inflow amid drought, urges conservation.

Record low snowpack, higher temperatures and faster spring snowmelt are expected to reduce inflows into the system by as much as 50% this year, raising concerns across communities throughout Colorado. Colorado Springs Utilities notes the system remains positioned to cope, with storage at about 77% capacity, enough to meet roughly three years of customer demand even after recent reservoir maintenance.

Thanks to historically low snowpack, CSU projects inflow into its system could be cut in half. The utility is asking customers to be "water wise" and conserve, as the situation is monitored and updates are issued.
