Colorado State and Wyoming to meet in 2026 Border War

Colorado State University and the University of Wyoming will face off in the 118th edition of the Border War, also known as the Battle for the Bronze Boot, on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The game, held at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins, marks the first time since 1964 that the rivals have met to open their respective seasons.

The matchup carries significant milestones for both programs. Colorado State begins its inaugural season in the Pac-12 under new head coach Jim Mora, while the game also celebrates the 10th anniversary of Canvas Stadium. Wyoming remains in the Mountain West under head coach Jay Sawvel.

Pre-game traditions include the Running of the Game Ball, where ROTC cadets from both universities participate in a relay from the Colorado-Wyoming state line to Fort Collins. The event will be broadcast nationally on USA Network.
