Colruyt Dilbeek reopens after major renovation
The Colruyt supermarket in Dilbeek, Belgium, has officially reopened following an extensive renovation. The store's footprint has nearly doubled, expanding from 800 m² to 1,500 m², with significant increases in the fresh market and freezer sections.
Key upgrades include a modernized butchery that now integrates charcuterie and vegetarian products in a single area. The store also features a new sushi corner and an expanded assortment of goods. The facility is staffed by 30 employees and six butchers.
Sustainability was a primary focus of the renovation, managed by Nirmana Real Estate. The store utilizes heat recovery from cooling installations to provide heating and employs propane for cooling, which reduces the CO₂ footprint by over 90%. Additionally, energy-efficient LED lighting with sensors has been installed, and the parking area now includes electric charging stations and improved bicycle facilities.
