Colruyt recalls vegetarian spreads in Belgium and Luxembourg over Listeria risk

Colruyt, Bio‑Planet and Comarkt have removed three Boni Plan’t vegetarian spreads – Martino, Curry and Zeespread (170 g each) – from store shelves in Belgium and Luxembourg. The products, sold between 24 June and 30 June 2026, were found to contain the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes during a supplier‑led microbiological check. The recall was carried out in coordination with the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FAVV).

Consumers are advised not to eat the recalled spreads and to return any unopened or opened jars to the point of sale for a full refund. The presence of Listeria poses a higher risk to pregnant women, young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems, potentially causing nausea, diarrhoea, abdominal cramps, fever and other flu‑like symptoms up to 60 days after consumption.
