Colton Joseph takes lead role for Wisconsin football offense

Colton Joseph, a transfer from Old Dominion, is positioned to lead the University of Wisconsin football offense following a highly productive season in the Sun Belt. Joseph, who earned Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year honors, recorded over 2,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in 2025, making him one of only two quarterbacks nationwide to achieve those milestones.

During fall camp, Joseph has demonstrated the dual-threat capabilities that head coach Luke Fickell seeks. Observations from recent practices indicate he is becoming more comfortable in the pocket and improving his ability to progress through reads under pressure. While there have been some inconsistencies in accuracy during deep passes, his ability to create plays both through the air and with his legs is expected to be a major factor in the Badgers' offensive development under offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes.
