Colton Nussmeier Transfers to Louisiana After Texas Eligibility Ruling

Four‑star quarterback Colton Nussmeier, a member of the Class of 2027 and committed to the University of Georgia, is the son of New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier and the younger brother of NFL quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. He played his sophomore and junior seasons at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas, before transferring to Ryan High School in Denton for his senior year.

The Texas University Interscholastic League ruled him ineligible, citing an athletic‑purpose transfer, and the family’s appeals were denied. Consequently, Nussmeier enrolled at Archbishop Rummel in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, where he will be eligible to play his final high‑school season and join the Raiders' senior quarterback class.
