Columbia Basin Trust allocates $542,000 for arts and culture

The Columbia Basin Trust has allocated $542,000 to support 123 arts and culture projects across the Columbia Basin for the 2026/27 period. The funding is administered through the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance (CKCA), a project of the Kootenay Regional Arts Council.

Grants were distributed across five distinct streams. Community grants, ranging from $1,175 to $2,500, were awarded to various recipients including the Castlegar and District Heritage Society, Symphony of the Kootenays, and the Creston Valley Film Society. Minor Capital grants of up to $10,000 were provided to organizations such as the Nelson Fine Arts Centre Society and the Rossland Council for Arts and Culture. Additionally, $5,000 touring grants were issued to Kootenay artists and musicians, alongside $10,000 major project grants.
