Columbia Journalism School hires former 60 Minutes correspondents

Former "60 Minutes" correspondents Sharyn Alfonsi and Scott Pelley, who were dismissed from CBS News after clashes with editor‑in‑chief Bari Weiss, have been appointed as journalists‑in‑residence at Columbia Journalism School for the 2026‑27 academic year. In their new part‑time roles they will mentor students, deliver lectures and workshops, and contribute to the Columbia Journalism Review. The school also plans a panel discussion in November where the two will reflect on major stories from their careers and discuss ethical challenges in reporting.

CBS News announced a new lineup of correspondents for "60 Minutes" following the firings, signaling a shift in the program’s direction under Weiss.
