Columbia man to face trial for fatal Walmart parking lot shooting

Issac Everett Hollis, 28, is scheduled to stand trial in December for the March 2024 killing of a man in a Columbia Walmart parking lot. Hollis faces charges of first-degree murder and three other felonies in Boone County.

According to court documents and a probable cause statement, security footage allegedly shows Hollis shooting the victim in the back as the individual walked toward a vehicle. The victim reportedly sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died at University Hospital. The incident involved an altercation where the suspect and victim were yelling at one another, and a bullet also struck an uninvolved vehicle. Boone County Circuit Judge Jeff Harris will preside over the jury trial.
