Columbia Sportswear launches ‘F££T FUND’ marketing campaign
Columbia Sportswear has launched a marketing campaign titled ‘F££T FUND’ to promote its new Peakfreak hiking shoes. The campaign leverages internet culture surrounding paid foot photography to drive engagement.
Under the promotion, selected hikers can submit photos of their bare feet to the company. Participants who are chosen can receive £135, an amount intended to cover the cost of a pair of Peakfreak shoes. The campaign utilizes a multi-step approach, starting with teasers on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat, before transitioning into concrete product marketing.
Content creators, including James Norbury, have participated in the campaign, which began around September 15. The strategy aims to turn an internet phenomenon into a functional marketing tool by demonstrating the necessity of footwear for various terrains.
