Columbus Blue Jackets announce scouting and training staff changes

The Columbus Blue Jackets are restructuring their hockey operations department ahead of their 27th season. General Manager Don Waddell announced that Trevor Timmins has been promoted to director of amateur scouting. Timmins previously served as the assistant director of amateur scouting for Columbus and held various leadership roles with the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators.

Ville Siren, who served as the director of amateur scouting for the last 13 years, will transition to the role of director of European scouting. The organization is also updating its training staff. Tom Bourdon will take over as head athletic trainer, succeeding Mike Vogt, who is moving into an assistant athletic trainer role after 18 years in the position. Chris Strickland will also move to an assistant athletic trainer and physical therapist role.

The promotion of Timmins follows the team’s 2024 draft decision to select Cayden Lindstrom with the fourth overall pick rather than Ivan Demidov, a choice that has drawn scrutiny from analysts regarding the team's scouting direction.
