Columbus McKinnon posts strong Q1 earnings and unveils Kito CQ manual hoist
Columbus McKinnon (NASDAQ: CMCO) announced a robust first‑quarter fiscal 2027 performance, with pro‑forma sales rising 10% year over year to $531.5 million and orders jumping 120% to $568.1 million, driven largely by the recent acquisition of Kito Crosby. The company raised its fiscal outlook for sales, adjusted EBITDA and earnings per share, citing strong demand in the Americas and Asia‑Pacific and integration benefits from the Kito Crosby deal. Margins improved, with gross profit up 89% and adjusted gross margin reaching 38.1%.
At the same time, Columbus McKinnon launched the Kito CQ, a new generation manual chain hoist that reduces hand‑pull force by 40% compared with conventional models—dropping the required force for a 1‑ton hoist from 29 kgf to 18 kgf. The hoist features an enhanced, patent‑pending overload limiter and ergonomic design aimed at lowering operator fatigue and improving safety across job sites worldwide.
