Dr. Unjali Malhotra wins national women's healthcare award
Dr. Unjali Malhotra, a menopause and women’s health physician based in West Kelowna, has been awarded the Enid Johnson MacLeod Award by the Federation of Medical Women of Canada. The award recognizes her excellence in women’s healthcare research and education.
Dr. Malhotra is noted for her contributions to the field, including founding the first rural and remote women’s health residency program at the University of British Columbia. She has developed national curricula regarding contraception, consent, and HPV, and has mentored hundreds of medical students and residents across Canada. Her research work includes contributing to national and provincial guidelines for HPV, menopause, and contraception, as well as developing guidance for facilitating conversations with First Nations patients.
