Comacchio hosts final weekend of Sagra dell’Anguilla festival

The 28th edition of the Sagra dell’Anguilla, themed ‘Fratello Sale e Sorella Anguilla’, is concluding its final weekend in Comacchio. Following two successful weekends, the festival continues to showcase the local tradition of wild eel from the Valli di Comacchio, a Slow Food presidium.

Events are spread across the historic center, from Trepponti to the Manifattura dei Marinati. The festival features traditional gastronomy, including a competition for the best Comacchio-style risotto and wine masterclasses. Cultural activities include theatrical performances, literary presentations, and guided tours of the local museum and fish-processing traditions.

Outdoor and nature-based activities are also central to the event, including ‘Bike & Boat’ excursions, boat trips through the lagoons to visit traditional ‘casoni’, and sunset cruises offering seafood dinners.
