Comcast and Walt Disney report diverging revenue trends
Comcast and Walt Disney have shown diverging revenue trends in recent quarters. Comcast has experienced modest revenue contraction, with quarterly revenue moving from $32.1 billion in Q3 2024 to $30.3 billion in Q2 2025. As part of its corporate restructuring, Comcast announced a planned tax-free spin-off on June 29 to separate its NBCUniversal media business into an independent publicly traded company.
In contrast, Walt Disney has maintained upward revenue growth momentum. Its quarterly revenue rose from $22.6 billion in Q3 2024 to $23.6 billion in Q2 2025. Disney has also undergone structural changes, including workforce reductions and executive leadership appointments, and recently settled a $100 million antitrust lawsuit regarding its animation studios.
Regarding consumer services, Xfinity customers have reported significant price increases. One long-term subscriber noted their 1-gigabit internet plan rose from $80 to $110 per month, while new customers are being offered the same service for $50 per month with a five-year price guarantee.
