Comédie-Française presents new theatrical productions

The Comédie-Française is hosting new theatrical productions, including Arnaud Desplechin’s staging of Marguerite Duras’s ‘La Musique deuxième’ at the Vieux Colombier. Desplechin’s production utilizes a minimalist and inventive direction, employing a transparent screen to project scenes and dances that evoke the past. The play explores the complex emotional aftermath of a separation between two protagonists, Anne-Marie and Michel, as they struggle to reconcile their shared history with their current state of disconnection.

Additionally, the Studio-Théâtre is presenting ‘Le Legs,’ directed by Aurélien Hamard-Padis. This production features a cast of six actors performing a Marivaux play set within a stylized, modern decor contrasted by 18th-century costumes. The play examines the tensions between love and wealth through Marivaux’s characteristic use of irony and intellectual wit, with the run scheduled to continue until November 8, 2026.
