Comeana archaeological site to host sixth Etruscan Festival

The archaeological site of Comeana in Italy features significant Etruscan history, including the Tumulo dei Boschetti. Dating back to the 3rd century BC, this aristocratic tomb is notable for its unique funerary practices, such as the discovery of human remains placed in a seated position.

To celebrate this heritage, the sixth edition of the Festa Etrusca is scheduled for September 19–20, 2026, at the Parco Archeologico di Carmignano. Held near the Montefortini Etruscan tumulus, the event is part of the Tuscany Region’s ‘Giornata degli Etruschi’. The festival will include free activities such as themed workshops for children, treasure hunts, guided tours of the Artimino Archaeological Museum and the Prato Rosello Necropolis, and special access to the princely tumulus. Local volunteer associations will also provide food and wine inspired by the era.
