Comedian Gerd Knebel remembered by Badesalz partner

Henni Nachtsheim has shared tributes to his longtime comedy partner Gerd Knebel, who passed away in January at the age of 72 following a battle with cancer. Speaking on the SWR talk show ‘Nachtcafé’, Nachtsheim described Knebel as a free spirit who refused to let illness diminish his sense of humor.

Nachtsheim characterized Knebel’s energy as being like ‘humanized cocaine,’ noting that no one else could charge him energetically in the same way. He recalled spending time with Knebel and his family just days before his death, looking through old photographs from their time as the comedy duo Badesalz and laughing together.

Knebel first gained recognition in the 1980s as a singer with the band Flatsch before forming the successful comedy duo Badesalz with Nachtsheim.
