Comedian Jung Jong-chul moves to Gangnam following wife's request

Comedian Jung Jong-chul, known for his ‘Okdongja’ character, revealed that he moved from a large apartment in Ilsan to the Gangnam area of Seoul following a strong demand from his wife.

During an appearance on the YouTube channel ‘Kim Gura Economic Research Institute,’ actor Lee Gye-in recounted how Jung had previously encouraged him to move to the Siksa-dong area of Ilsan, citing the proximity to fishing spots. However, Jung decided to sell his 70-pyeong apartment and relocate after only one year. Lee noted that Jung’s wife reportedly threatened divorce if the family did not move to Seoul, leading the couple to seek even a small residence in the Gangnam area.

Jung’s strategic move appears to have been financially successful. Last year, it was reported that his corporation purchased a five-story building in Jamwon-dong, Seocho-gu, for approximately 4.5 billion won.
